Nominator's project description
| Professor Cava is an internationally leading scientist in the field of synthesis of materials with strong electronic correlations and their intriguing physical properties. These materials include high-temperature superconductors that encompass cuprates and the recently discovered iron pnictides as well as rare-earth alloys whose electrons exhibit unusual magnetic properties, such as superconductivity induced by the proximity to magnetic order. In Germany, Robert Josef Cava intends to intensify the collaboration with his hosts and other leading groups in the field of correlated electron systems. |
